The Proving Grounds, Part 4

Anon wakes up with the sun shining in his face.

"Ah, I see", Takagi says, "You woke up."

"So what?" Anon replies.

"Well, I was trying to hunt, and that damn dog appeared again."

"Huh,  I see." Anon takes a breath. "And why it affected your hunt so much?"

"I-i-idiot!" she yells. "I was scared! That dog has red eyes, you know? It scares me!"

"Yeah, yeah. So we're going out for a hunt?"

"Oh, hell no!" she replies. "You can't even kill an ant!"

"Okay, I'll just sit and take-" Again, an interruption from the "almighty" Overseer.

"I again come to advise you that the conditions in the area will get more difficult to overcome. Analyze the area, think a little bit. Oh, I almost forgot, another 'contestant' died. Good luck for the nine remnants!"

"Fuck. I'll take a walk. Watch our camp, kid," Takagi says, "And don't do nothing you'll regret later!"

"Okay." he replied with an upset tone.

Several minutes passed. Takagi didn't returned.

As soon as he lied down in the tent, an unnerving feel passed through his body.

He felt like being watched.

And then, he hears a voice. A male, emaciated voice.

"Don't kill me! I just want some help! My leg's badly hurt!"

"Hey, hey," Anon said, "What you can offer in exchange, my sir?"

"My gratitude? My... protection? ...Worship?"

"Take it easy, sir." Anon replies. "Do you have food or ammunition?"

Suddenly, Takagi arrives in the campsite.

"Who the hell is this guy? Let me just finish him off!"

"No, lass, please no, my leg is just badly hurt," the old man says, "and by the way, you can call me Mr. 3."

"Good. Just don't do anything idiot."
